Great Ocean Road Gin announces closure, administrator appointed
A well-known coastal distillery business has announced its shock closure on Instagram after an administrator was appointed.

A well-known distillery business on the Surf Coast has announced its sudden closure following the appointment of an administrator.
Great Ocean Road Gin owner Ann Houlihan and her partner Kris Mckie took to social media on Thursday afternoon to announce the business had shut.
“To our loyal customers, supporters, friends and family. It is with an incredibly heavy heart that we write this post to let you know that effective today the Great Ocean Road Gin and The Gin Kitchen are officially closed,” the post read.
“We are very sad and sorry that it has come to this and that it has all happened so quickly. We are still in shock that we have lost everything.
“We have appointed an administrator to assist with the sale of the business assets.
“Over the past four years we have been immensely proud of what we have built and achieved, delicious award-winning gin, a restaurant serving fabulous authentic food and an amazing dining and hospitality experience in our venues,” the post read.
They also thanked their “amazing team” and thanked customers for their love and appreciation for their business.
“We have had amazing support for our brand including from our region, our community. This has been a very special part of our lives on the coast and for that we are truly grateful,” the post read.
According to Australian Security and Investment Commission documents, an administrator was appointed on Wednesday.
In March of last year, the business opened a gin bar on the Surf Coast.
The Great Ocean Road Gin distillery is located in Torquay and the Great Ocean Road Kitchen and Garden is at Airey Inlet.
