Geelong West’s clash with Lara was called off before the final siren after Giants star and Geelong VFL player Jamieson Ballantyne suffered a concussion.
Ballantyne was collected high in a marking contest in the final quarter and the match was drawn to a close with around 10 minutes left in the match, with Geelong West 94-points ahead.
The Portland product, who was on radar of AFL clubs ahead of the 2021 draft, was the best man on the ground with three goals and plenty of the ball.
AFL Barwon said it is aware of the Giants-Cats game being called off because of an injury to a Giants player.
Dangerous forward Patrick Eastman kicked four goals which saw the Giants move into seventh spot on the GFNL ladder.
