Geelong commuters catching the train on Monday are expected to experience significant delays as a result of industrial actions taken by the rail, tram and bus union.

A full train network closure will take place between 3am and 7am on Monday February 12, Friday February 16, Monday February 19 and Friday February 23.

In a statement, V/Line said passengers are advised to avoid travelling in the morning as a very limited coach replacement service will operate from first service until 8am with significant delays expected.

Between the Geelong and Warnambool lines, a very limited number of coaches will run between Southern Cross, Geelong and Warrnambool.

Trains will progressively return from approximately 8am but delays and cancellations will continue across the day, and services may be busier than usual while we work to recover the timetable.

Additional services for special events are scheduled to run as planned but passengers are encouraged to check the V/Line or PTV websites before travelling.

Last month, V/Line workers walked off the job again due to division caused over enterprise agreement bargaining.

Bargaining since June, the RTBU says V/Line is yet to address key concerns that have been raised throughout the negotiations to date.
