Anakie woman’s car impounded after allegedly driving almost five times the blood alcohol limit

An Anakie woman had her vehicle impounded on Tuesday afternoon after allegedly driving with a blood alcohol reading of almost five times the legal limit.

A Victoria Police booze bus was set up on Ballarat Rd in North Geelong and officers intercepted a HiLux ute shortly after 2.30pm.

An evidentiary breath test was conducted with the 62-year-old female driver and returned a reading of 0.244.

The woman’s car was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1305 and she will be summonsed to appear in Geelong Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
