Police release image of man wanted in relation to a number of break ins

Police have released pictures of a masked man wanted in relation to a number of break-ins in Fannie Bay this week.

POLICE are searching for a man in relation to two unlawful entries on Fannie Bay residences on Thursday.

They have identified a man, described as caucasian, wearing blue clothes and a green Nike backpack and a black beanie and face mask, who was caught on footage during the break-ins.

The incidents occurred between 2.45am and 3.30am on Thursday.

It is understood the man stole a number of small items before fleeing the scene.

“Police are urging anyone with information, or who witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10091800,” Senior Sergeant Kaye Pemberton said.

Man fighting for life after three car smash

A man is fighting for life after he suffered serious injuries in a multi-car crash police are now calling for witnesses to come forward.

The driver of a grey Ford XR6 – one of three utes involved in the crash – was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to a collision at the intersection of Tiger Brennan Drive and Bowen Road about 6.35am on August 11.

Police said a dark grey Ford XR6 ute, a white Ford Ranger ute and a white Toyota Hilux ute were involved in the crash.

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a crash.

Senior Sergeant Craig Gillis said “Investigations are continuing to determine the cause of the crash”.

Police are urging anyone who witnessed the crash, particularly those with dashcam footage, to make contact on 131 444. Please quote reference 10085757.

Group flees in car stolen during home invasion

Police are searching for a group of men who broke into a home, stole a vehicle and smashed through a fence in a daring getaway.

Police said a group of young men entered a Moulden home in the early hours of Friday morning before they fled in the homeowner’s white Isuzu Dmax.

In doing so, the vehicle burst through the gates of the residence causing about $1000 damage to the car.

It is unknown if the group of intruders stole any other goods from the home.

A short time after the Dmax was spotted and a lengthy high speed chase ensued, however, it was terminated due to safety concern for the general public.

Police were alerted by a member of the public that they had seen the car in the Driver area.

A 22-year-old was arrested after the vehicle was found parked in the street, while the other passengers fled by foot and have since evaded police investigations.

The Wade resident was charged with unlawful use of motor vehicle.

Woman treated for ‘minor injuries’ after being hit by a car on the Stuart Highway

A WOMAN who was hit by a car on the Stuart Highway has walked away with minor injuries.

A NT Police spokesman said a woman was hit by a car on the highway at Yarrawonga, Palmerston.

He said police and St John Ambulance responded to the crash after receiving reports of a car hitting the pedestrian at 3.21pm.

He said the woman was treated for minor injuries.

It has not been confirmed if she was taken to hospital.

Four occupants were lucky to walk away from a horror wreck after car rolls in Katherine

A GROUP of people survived a harrowing rollover that extensively damaged a 4WD in an incident that has triggered a renewed warning to motorists.

Four people were travelling in a Toyota Prado when it rolled off Florina Rd at Katherine about 3.50am Wednesday.

The Prado had rolled about 15m before coming to a rest by the road.

The vehicle’s front window was smashed and the roof caved in, but the four people inside were able to free themselves.

Police found three passengers at the scene. A fourth person had been able to get out of the wreck and had walked off from the vehicle to find help.

St John Ambulance took all four people to Katherine Hospital for assessment.

There were no requirements for a road closure.

Northern Territory police reminded drivers of the importance of responsible consumption of alcohol and arranging a sober driver to ensure everyone made it home safely.

It comes after police attended a second crash in Livingstone late Tuesday.

Humpty Doo police were called to the Stuart Highway about 10.15pm after a small hatchback collided with a light pole, causing the vehicle to role several times.

Emergency services on arrival found a 45-year-old male driver had been able to get out of the car. He had non-life threatening injuries.

Police investigations revealed the male driver had been consuming alcohol at a licensed premises prior to the crash.

St John Ambulance took the 45-year-old man to the Royal Darwin Hospital for a medical examination, including a blood test for alcohol and drugs.

The driver is expected to face multiple traffic offences at a later date.
