As part of The Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph and NewsLocal’s #gowest2016 campaign — which focuses on celebrating Sydney’s Western Suburbs and investigating inequities — Harvey Norman is giving away $4,000 in total prizes.

Four finalists will snag a weekly prize of $500 of Harvey Norman gift vouchers and the Grand Prize winner will receive a $2,000 Harvey Norman gift voucher with photographs published in our newspapers.

Sponsored by Harvey Norman PhotoCentre, all finalists will have the chance to attend a black-tie gala dinner in Sydney’s Western Suburbs where the winner will be announced.

It was a striking shot at a family picnic that won last year's top prize.

The black and white image (featured on page 1 of the Daily Telegraph at the time) was taken at Bents Basin by Annette Blattman, of St Marys, while watching her nephews play.

“The boys were mucking around and I saw how the light was hitting them when they threw the water,” she said.

“I wanted to experiment with my camera and got my nephews to play in the water, this photo reminds me of a fun afternoon which we all enjoyed.”

Ms Blattman, who described herself as a “keen amateur” photographer, taught herself by reading magazines and watching Youtube tutorials.
