A lockdown has been lifted in Townsville after a siege was resolved without threat to the public.

A lockdown has been lifted in Townsville after a siege was resolved without threat to the public.

The emergency situation was declared after reports of an armed man inside a house in Mesa Circuit, Cosgrove, about 12pm.

The exclusion zone extended from Bohle River to Woolcock St, Woolcock St to Abattoir Rd, Abattoir Rd to Rock Boulevard and Rock Boulevard to Shale Court.

The lockdown was lifted about 7.20pm, with police saying there was no threat to the public.
