A cyclist has died following a collision with a car in Sydney’s south, with the tragic scene unfolding in front of several bystanders on Tuesday.

A cyclist has died following a collision with a car in Sydney’s south, with the tragic scene unfolding in front of several bystanders on Tuesday.
Just before 6pm the electric bicycle collided with a car on Elizabeth St near The Avenue in Hurstville, sending emergency services racing to the scene.
Bystanders rendered aid to the 54-year-old man before the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics but despite their best efforts, he could not be saved.
St George Police officers established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The 17-year-old female driver of the car was not injured and has undergone mandatory testing at St George Hospital.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
