October 14, 1.37pm: NT Police are searching for a 73-year-old man with dementia, who is believed to have wandered from his residence overnight.

It is understood John, also known as Jack, walked away from his property on Strickland Road, Adelaide River sometime between 11pm Sunday and 8am Monday.

John is described as being of caucasian appearance, slim build, with grey hair and a beard.

He suffers from dementia and type two diabetes and his family hold concerns for his welfare.

Search and Rescue section continues to search for John.

Driver taken to hospital after commute crash

October 14, 12pm: A driver has been taken to hospital after a morning commute ended in a single vehicle crash near a major thoroughfare.

An NT Police spokesman said the driver suffered minor injuries after the crash about 5km outbound from the Stuart Hwy on Jenkins Rd at 7.50am Monday.

“St John Ambulance arrived on scene and treated the driver who returned a negative breath and drug test,” the spokesman said.

“Police are investigating the exact cause of the crash.”

Man charged after alleged DV attack, bail breach

October 14, 10.30am: A 23-year-old man has been arrested in relation to an alleged domestic violence incident in Nhulunbuy.

An NT Police spokesperson said the man turned himself in to the Nhulunbuy Police Station on Thursday after a warrant was issued for him.

The spokesperson said the man was charged with breaching bail and violating a DVO.

They said the man was due to appear in the Darwin Local Court on Monday.
