THE early stages of the Richardson Park demolitions have started, with several excavators on site tearing down infrastructure.
The old grandstand, ablution block, kiosk, gate house and clubhouse will be flattened.
The $689,941 demolition works are being undertaken by NTEX and are yet to hit the grandstand, with a number of rubble piles building up in the entrance to the precinct.

Infrastructure Minister Eva Lawler said an upgraded facility would be built preserving the sporting significance of the site, the former home of NT rugby league.
