CROWS ruckman Sam Jacobs still hopes Patrick Dangerfield will win the Brownlow Medal, despite the star midfielder deciding to leave the club.

“He’s (Dangerfield) obviously been a strong poller in the past and he’s a really important part of our team this year so hopefully he can get a few votes and get the win,” Jacobs said on Thursday, as he helped his girlfriend, Izzy Daniel, select a Brownlow dress at Caleche in Norwood.

“I think we’re in for a good night. With Tex (Taylor Walker), Thommo (Scott Thompson), Danger, Sloaney (Rory Sloane) and Eddie (Betts) going (as well), we’ve obviously played a lot of footy together now so it’s great to go over there and ... hopefully Danger can poll a few votes, that will make the night a bit more fun.”

It’s a big few days for the couple, who will attend the Crows Club Champion Award at the Adelaide Convention Centre Saturday night, before heading to Melbourne for the prestigious Brownlow Medal count at Crown Casino.

“Once you’ve been to the Brownlow, the best and fairest is on a much smaller scale, so the dress won’t be anything too fancy for Saturday,” said Ms Daniel, who will be attending her second Brownlow count.

“The dress is done, the jewellery is done, I still need to find a bag to use, but everything else is good.

“I’m not as nervous as last year, I think I know what to expect ... but when I walk down the red carpet there’s still a few nerves and I look to Sam for a bit of support.”

Jacobs, who will be wearing a suit by MJ Bale ((SUBS must keep in)), said Ms Daniel looked “stunning” in her outfit, which she was keeping under wraps until Monday.

“I think she’s excited to show everyone on the night what it’s going to look like,” he said.

Meanwhile, new Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will present the Dally M on Monday night, preferring rugby league’s big night over its AFL equivalent.

It means the nation’s two most powerful political figures will attend the ceremony, with Mr Turnbull and his right-hand man, the nation’s new Treasurer, Scott Morrison, to be present on Monday night.

An unprecedented clash between the Dally M Awards night in Sydney and the Brownlow in Melbourne meant Mr Turnbull had to choose between the two events.

Mr Turnbull will be the first PM to present the Dally M since Kevin Rudd did so in 2009.
