A welfare check has revealed disturbing scenes as the body of a 61-year-old man was found in a unit block.
Queensland Police were called to a Gold Coast unit on Barney Street in Southport after a male-tenant discovered the man’s body.

The apartment block was declared a crime scene just before 8am, with police investigating the cause of his death.
Police are reportedly doorknocking in the area, with forensic teams still on scene.
The man’s cause of death is not yet known.
