A boy has been rushed to hospital after he reportedly got out of a moving car.
Victoria police confirmed emergency crews had to rush to the aid of the child after the traumatic incident.
“It is understood the school-aged child got out of the vehicle whilst it was going,” they said.
The incident happened on Princess Rd in Corio about 5.30pm on Wednesday.
It is believed the car was moving slowly at the time of the incident and the child suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Ambulance Victoria confirmed paramedics took “a school aged male” to Royal Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing two ambulances, two police cars, and a helicopter at the scene.
But it can be confirmed the child was transported by road.
The crash comes after a Geelong College student was struck by a car in school traffic just after a six-year-old schoolboy was killed in an alleged hit and run while walking to the bus stop in Teesdale on March 27.
