COMMUTERS got a surprise this morning when a car crashed through a fence and landed on the platform of an Inner West train station.
Police were called to Croydon station just after 9.30am and found the white SUV had knocked over a fence and fallen almost six metres down an embankment before coming to rest on the station’s steps.
Paramedics attended the scene but the female driver was uninjured and didn’t require attention.
A Fire and Rescue NSW spokesperson said crews faced a difficult extraction as there were many overhead wires in the area.
A crane was eventually used to lift the car back to the street.
No train services were interrupted as a result of the crash.
