THE childhood home of Kylie and Dannii Minogue has changed hands for the first time since the family sold the property in 1985.
Homebuyers Joe and Clare McGrath should be so lucky to have secured the landmark five-bedroom house at 46 St Johns Ave, Camberwell, for $1.74 million.
A reserve price of $1.8 million was negotiated down after the property passed in at $1.65 million in front of two bidders.

“We probably thought we’d be outbid to be honest,” said Ms McGrath.
“(The Minogue link) is a nice added bonus. I’m looking forward to giving Kylie a tour or Dannii when they’re in town,” Mr McGrath joked.
Vendors Steve and Christine said they were happy the property sold to a family.
“I’m surprised there wasn’t a greater deal of interest in it to be honest. It’s a good entry point to Camberwell,” Steve said.
“But it’s great that’s its going to a family and I hope they enjoy it.”
Woodards, Camberwell, agent Anthony Smith said there had been more interest from builders who wanted to knock the house down during the campaign.

But the slice of Australian music history was saved from the wrecking ball as it sold to the young family, who have a baby son and dog.
Dannii wrote fondly about the family’s time at St Johns Ave in her book My Story, noting she had her first separate bedroom to Kylie at the property, which her family renovated.
