Traffic has been reduced on the Captain Cook Highway, north of Cairns following a single vehicle crash at Wangetti on Saturday night.

Emergency services responded to reports of a motorcycle crash on the highway, near the Wangetti Beach Road intersection.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman confirmed one crew attended the scene.

“It looks like a motorbike crash and our crew assisted (Queensland Ambulance Service) to move the patient.

It is unknown what injuries the patient sustained, of it they were transported to hospital.

It comes after a separate incident in the Tablelands where a stable patient was transported to Mossman hospital following a motorcycle crash on Bow Street at 5.10pm.
