An unplanned power outage impacted more than 4500 customers across Gordonvale and Edmonton and reached from Yarrabah to Little Mulgrave on Easter Monday before Ergon could restore services.

An unplanned power outage which occurred around 3.53pm has impacted more than 4500 customers in the southern suburbs of Cairns and as far south as Fishery Falls and Goldsborough on Easter Monday.
According to the Ergon Energy Outage Finder, the loss of supply, “is due to damage requiring emergency repairs.”
“Crews on route,” the update stated.
“Fault finding is in progress.”
Ergon Energy’s senior corporate communications manager Emma Oliveri confirmed around 4500 customers lost power at around 4pm.
“But we’ve been able to safely restore power to the vast majority of properties while crews continue fault-finding patrols of the network,” she said.
“Until they have determined the cause and assessed any repairs required, we won’t be able to provide an accurate restoration time frame.
“We appreciate the community’s understanding and patience on a public holiday”.
The Outage Finder indicated thousands of customers were impacted and the locations impacted comprised; Aloomba, Banna, Bessie Point, Cairns, Charinga, East Russell, East Trinity, Edmonton, Fishery Falls, Flying Fish Point, Glen Boughton, Goldsborough, Gordonvale, Green Hill, Highleigh, Koombal Park, Little Mulgrave, Meerawa, Mount Sophia, Murgon, Packers Camp, Pyramid Siding, Quingilly, Russell Heads, Sandy Creek, Second Beach, Wrights Creek, Yarrabah.
