Red Hot Summer Tour for Cairns

Lead singer and guitarist Suze DeMarchi said the Baby Animals are amped about playing in Cairns when they appear at the Red Hot Summer Tour in May 2022.

“I HAVE a feeling we are all going to be really emotional.”

ARIA award-winning rockers the Baby Animals lead singer and guitarist Suze DeMarchi said she and her bandmates are stoked about visiting Far North Queensland for their Cairns gig next year.

Ms DeMarchi, 57, said the band is amped to be part of the stellar line-up scheduled to play at Cairns Showgrounds on May 14.

The Red Hot Summer Tour is back in 2022 to sort Unfinished Business with the return of its 10th anniversary line-up headlined by ARIA Hall of Fame inductees Hunters & Collectors, with special guests James Reyne, The Living End, The Angels, Baby Animals, Killing Heidi and Boom Crash Opera.

The Baby Animals singer said she expected the band and the crowd to be feeling the love as they come together for the event.

“This tour has the same line-up as when the pandemic hit and we were all having such a great time,” Ms DeMarchi said.

“We are all so excited to be coming back to Cairns to complete the second half of the tour, so yes, I have a feeling we will all be a little bit emotional.”

Ms DeMarchi said Cairns will get to hear from classic Baby Animals earlier hits such as Rush You, Early Warning and One Word as well as some new material.

“I hope we will get to hug each other and have a bit of sing,” she said.

“We will all have been through this pandemic experience together and it will be wonderful to come together in Cairns,” she said.

“For us being able to play live again is a sign that people have come together as a community.”

Ms DeMarchi said she supports vaccination.

“I am into science and the only way out of this is the vaccine route,” she said.

“For me it’s about caring for the community and to be able to do this gig safely is a good and positive thing.

“I can’t wait, we are very excited to come back to Cairns.”.
