Police have made a public appeal for help to find a boat which was spotted sinking off the coast of Far North Queensland on Saturday.
Water police have released a photo appealing for information about the vessel, which was spotted sinking on Saturday, halfway between Low Isles and Batt Reef off Port Douglas.
The boat, spotted by a tourist helicoper, is an 8m sailing vessel.
Police do not believe anyone was onboard at the time it sunk.
The boat was first spotted at 10.10am, with a local boatie arriving on scene a short time later.
Police believe the vessel may have come adrift from its moorings or anchor, as the mast was disabled and tied to the foredeck of the vessel, so not in a condition to sail.
Water police are appealing for the owners or anyone who recognises the vessel or has further information to contact police.
