Far North sweet tooth's Ray and Sharyn Burton don’t need a reason to celebrate doughnuts, but getting behind National Donut Day was a pretty sweet deal.
The OMG Decadent Donut Far North Queensland franchisees will use the day to spread smiles and raise some ‘dough’ for Australian suicide prevention charity Gotcha4Life.
“We’re in the business of selling doughnuts and making people smile,” Mr Burton said.
“It’s going to be a big day for us and we wanted to take the opportunity to raise a few dollars for charity and give something back to the community.”
Mr Burton said the gluten-free, coeliac friendly doughnuts were great for everyone.
“We’ve got about 16 different flavours, so there’s something for everybody,” he said.
OMG! Decadent Donuts will be donating $5 for every 12 doughnut pack, and $2.50 for every six-doughnut pack sold.
Meanwhile, Donut King outlets around Cairns will celebrate the day by giving away free cinnamon doughnuts, all day.
Donut King marketing manager Raquel Hine said National Donut Day had become a crowd favourite with customers.
“Donut King is serving up a “hot cinni” every 6.6 seconds, so National Donut Day is an opportunity to celebrate our famous sweet treat,” Ms Hine said.
