A CAIRNS talent agency, which has worked with big content producers including Disney Plus, is looking for new faces this Sunday – and no experience is necessary.
Jade Turnbull, owner and founder of Platinum Model Management, has been operating for 10 years and manages more than 800 models both nationally and internationally.
Her casting session comes off the back of her high profile campaigns including a deal with Disney Plus in collaboration with National Geographic, and her recent international commercial with Austrade and Fair Trading.
“In light of the new movie studio that’s opening up (in Cairns), it’s really time to come together with the Far North Queensland community,” Ms Turnbull said.
The casting session is open to all ethnicities and ages, but they must be at age where they can talk to a camera. Acting experience isn’t a must-have either.
“It’s so open,” Ms Turnbull said.
“Anyone can come, someone who’s been an actor for many years or someone who just wants to try it.”
Those coming in can expect a professional headshot at Platinum’s studio and then they will head over to Sunshine Tower Hotel for their intro to camera video.
“It’s a two-step casting,” Ms Turnbull said.
All talent will then be included in Platinum’s premium database for bookings.
Ms Turnbull said Platinum offers a range of services from modelling courses to high quality photo shoots.
“Anyone can do a photo shoot here, newborn shoots, mother and son, family shoots. It’s about boosting confidence in everyone,” she said.
Ms Turnbull recommends the introductory Platinum modelling and deportment level 1 course as a taste tester for anyone interested in starting out.
“At the end of the day, it’s about creating these amazing opportunities for people,” Ms Turnbull said.
“Clients aren’t wanting to hire freelance talent anymore, so this is about professionally getting people on the books and then being able to open everyone up to the world.
“You don’t know what it’s going to lead to.”
