A young man has died three days after he was hit by a car near Mossman in Far North Queensland.
Police confirmed the 28-year-old man had passed away from his injuries in Cairns Hospital.
On Tuesday, a Toyota RAV4 was travelling within Bill Reese Park near the rest area, which is accessed from Mossman Daintree Road, just after 8pm when the vehicle struck a 28-year-old male pedestrian.
The 27-year-old driver immediately pulled over and started performing CPR.
Emergency crews were called and the patient was rushed to Mossman Hospital in a critical condition before being flown to Cairns Hospital.
A crime scene was declared at the public rest area in the park.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has any information that could help police, is urged to come forward.
