HOPE VALE resident Iris Underwood has every intention to take her family of six passionate Cowboys fans to the club’s home preliminary final next weekend.
Their location means an eight-hour drive is on the cards, but their excitement to see their team have a shot at making the NRL grand final trumps all thoughts of the inevitable “are we there yets” routinely sailing from the back seat.
“We’re definitely planning on getting there for that one,” Ms Underwood said.
“Their win against the Sharks felt good after they got ripped off with those seven tackles.”
Ms Underwood referred to the 2013 elimination final between the Cowboys and the Cronulla Sharks wherein the Cowboys season was ended after a refereeing blunder.
But the North Queensland club got their revenge last weekend and will face the winner of the Parramatta Eels and Canberra Raiders at Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Friday, September 23.
Tickets go on sale for members from 10.30am on Monday, September 19.
Non-members will be invited to purchase tickets following the members’ pre-sale window, likely the following day, according to the Cowboys’ website.
