Emergency services have extinguished a large fire on Tuesday morning as black smoke billowed from a Cairns property.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman confirmed nine crews attended reports of a shed fire at a Fishburn Street address at 11.45am.

“It looks like a 4m by 4m shed fire that spread to a mower and another shed,” the spokeswoman said.

“It was all out by 12.30pm and crews are dampening down some hotspots.”

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed two crews were on scene, however no patients were assessed by crews.

“It looks like there were no occupants in the building,” the spokeswoman said.

“We’re just standing by for fireys at this stage.”
