Emergency services have been called to a rescue at Behana Gorge around 2.20pm this afternoon after reports a young woman had slipped on some rocks and injured her leg.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed a female in her 20s required rescue after slipping and injuring her ankle.
“It looks like the patient has fallen from walking along the riverbank and slipped on some rocks,” the spokeswoman said.
“Patient was treated for a minor lower leg injury and transported to Cairns Hospital in a stable condition.”
According to a QFES spokesman, three fire and emergency crews responded to the scene to extricate the patient.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said they were called to assist QAS crews to extricate the fallen woman from rough terrain.
