A CAMPSITE along the Cassowary Coast has had a revamp with amenities repaired and a brand new website created to spruik its credentials.

Cassowary Coast Regional Council has stepped in to finish making the Dunk Island campsite operational with hot showers, toilets and a day picnic area for families.

Division 5 Councillor Jeff Baines said it was time for people to use the beautiful space that we have along the Coast.

“It should boost tourism to the area again, we need people to be aware that the campsites are back up and operating. Get there and start being a part of it,” Cr Baines said.

“The Cassowary Coast and Mission Beach is perfectly suited for family tourism.”

To help entice families, the council have decided to create a new website for people to book a campsite online.

Bookings for the campsite can be made here
