Get ready for Christmas cheer and broadway classics at Turning Pointe Dance Studio’s end of year production.
Entertaining audiences for almost 20 years with their recitals, Cairns’ dance school Turning Pointe Dance Studios will perform their end of year concert, Ballet to Broadway, at Cairns Performing Arts Centre on Saturday with a matinee and evening show.
Studio principal Melanie Connors said the performances would feature two interconnecting acts, a magical Christmas adventure and a showcase of broadway’s greatest hits.
“It’s a very spectacular show,” Ms Connors said.
“Every style will be on stage — lyrical, contemporary, tap, jazz, ballet, classical, acrobatics, song and dance, a lot of musical theatre — it’s a big variety show.
“It’s a show for everyone to enjoy.”
The performances will feature little ones as young as two and seasoned senior dancers, some of which will be pursuing dance careers after graduating this year.
“A lot of our students have gone on to further their careers at a professional level,” Ms Connors said.
“We give every child the opportunity to shine and be their best, but what sets us apart is we do give them a very strong technical dance basis and grounding.”
The matinee performance begins at 11am, with the evening starting at 6pm. Tickets are available via the CPAC website.
