Two people have been rushed to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash into a cane train on the Bruce Highway on Wednesday morning.

Emergency services responded to reports of a multi-vehicle crash into a cane train at 9.50am at Goondi Bend in Innisfail.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed crews assessed four people on scene.

“Crews assessed four patients, all stable,” the spokeswoman said.

“We transported two patients with no significant injuries, potentially just some distress, to Innisfail hospital.”

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman confirmed the highway had been temporarily blocked in both directions.
