A teenage girl has sadly died on Christmas Eve after a car crash which pinned her to the ground in Far North Queensland’s top end.
Multiple emergency crews arrived on scene following reports of a single-vehicle crash, which had flipped onto it’s roof on Tuesday, December 24.
Emergency services attended the crash just before 11:30am on the intersection of Kuttini Street and Piiramo Street in the remote town of Lockhart River.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Police Service said one person was trapped.
“Multiple crews have responded to a single-vehicle rollover, with one person reportedly entrapped,” she said.
It is understood that a female occupant was “pinned under a car” and was treated for life-threatening injuries.
That woman, the driver, a 17-year-old Lockhart River girl, died at the scene.
One passenger suffered non-life-threatening facial and body injuries.
Two other passengers were not injured.
