Tahnee Sims marks first Christmas since Johnny Ruffo’s death with emotional post

Little more than a month after his death, Australian singer and actor Johnny Ruffo’s partner marked her first Christmas without him.

Johnny Ruffo’s girlfriend Tahnee Sims has marked her first Christmas without him since his death in November.

Ruffo, 35, died at a Sydney hospital surrounded by Ms Sims and his family following a long and well publicised battle with brain cancer.

Ms Sims posted a photo to her Instagram on Monday of Ruffo kissing her on the cheek at last year’s Christmas celebrations with the words “miss you’ alongside the picture.

Ruffo was first diagnosed with brain cancer in 2017 before having surgery to remove a tumour and going into remission.

In 2020, Ruffo revealed he was again battling brain cancer and in 2022 announced that it was terminal, going on to tell The Project in an TV interview about his concerns for Ms Sims when dies.

‘You can only imagine how difficult it’s been for her,’ he said.

‘What plays in my head a lot is, I hate to say this, how hard it may be for her if something does happen to me.

‘So, it’s something that I don’t want to think about. It just gets me a little bit emotional about it because I know at some point something will happen, whether it’s, you know, a month from now or 10 years from now or 20 years.’

Ruffo first rose to fame on The X Factor in 2011, finishing third, before winning Dancing with the Stars in 2012, followed by a stint on Home and Away.
