Suspected Hells Angels gang associate charged over king hit in Newcastle

Police believe the 47-year-old is an associate of the infamous Hells Angels bikie gang, with the man arrested and charged over the alleged assault of two men.

A suspected associate of the infamous Hells Angels bikie gang has been charged over an alleged king hit in Newcastle.

Officers were called to a licensed premises on Morgan Street in Merewether about 11pm on September 14 following reports of multiple assaults.

Police were told an unknown man had punched two 19 and 20-year-old men in the head before fleeing the scene.

Both men suffered injuries to the mouth and face.

However, they both refused treatment.

An investigation was immediately launched into the incident, and police executed a search warrant at a Merewether home about 6am Wednesday following further inquiries.

Officers seized personal items allegedly used during the offence, as well as electronic items.

A 47-year-old man, who police believe may be involved in the Hells Angels bikie gang, was arrested at the home.

He was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

The man was granted conditional bail.

He is set to front the Newcastle Local Court on October 31.
