Police investigate ‘suspicious’ death of elderly man found dead at regional home
An investigation has been launched after an elderly man’s body was found at a home in a popular tourist town, which police have deemed suspicious.

Police have launched an investigation into the death of an elderly man, whose body was found at a home in a tourist town in the Gippsland region of Victoria.
Officers were called to a home at the intersection of Church St and Justice Rd in Cowes, a town in Phillip Island about 10.20am Monday.
An elderly man, believed to be in his 80s, was found deceased at the property.
“The death is being treated as suspicious,” a Victoria Police statement read.
A man, believed to be in his 50s, was found with a suspected self-inflicted injuries about 5kms away in Ventnor, earlier on Monday.
He was taken to hospital under police guard.
Police believe the men involved are known to each other.
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined,” the statement read.
