Ninth anniversary of William Tyrrell’s disappearance

Australians have recommitted themselves to finding justice in the disappearance of William Tyrrell as a heartbreaking anniversary is reached.

Nine years have passed since William Tyrrell vanished from his grandmother’s property, reigniting the push to find the missing little boy.

The then three-year-old was last seen at about 10.30am playing in his Spider-Man suit at the Kendall property on the NSW north coast, with the details of what happened next still a mystery almost a decade later.

The grim anniversary has rallied the citizen group Where’s William in its fight for answers about what happened to William, saying they will “never give up” the search for him.

“Today, as we mark 9 heartbreaking years since the tragic day this precious little boy was taken from all those he loved and who love him; please light a candle for William and join us in maintaining hope that the person who knows what happened to him finds the courage to come forward and tell police what they know,” the group said in a statement.

“NSW Police continue to offer a ONE MILLION DOLLAR reward for information that will lead them to William. If you are the someone who knows something, please call Crime Stoppers NOW on 1800 333 000 and help bring William home.”

Despite the huge resources provided and intense public support for the investigation, Strike Force Rosann has failed to find a significant breakthrough in the case in the nine years it’s been operating.

One of the largest investigations ever launched by NSW Police, the strike force has a team of full-time investigators and analysts.

Highly public pushes for more information have also failed to find concrete evidence linking anyone to William’s disappearance and presumed death.

Dozens of detectives and police officers descended on the Kendall property where William was last seen, scouring for evidence around the home and honing in on the area below the home’s balcony.

Police had been probing allegations that there was a deadly accident at the home before William’s body was hidden by his foster mother.

The 58-year-old woman has always denied involvement with the disappearance and searches of the gardens, dam and a kilometre of bushland found no trace of William’s remains.
