Man dies with critical injuries in suburban home in Gateshead, NSW

A man has died after being found with critical injuries at a suburban home, with a investigation now under way.

A man has died after he was found with critical injuries inside a suburban home south of Newcastle in NSW.

Emergency services were called to the Mahogany Crescent home in Gateshead, Lake Macquarie, about 11pm Thursday.

A man believed to be aged in his 30s was found critically injured.

He died at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.

The man is yet to be formally identified.

A crime scene has been established and police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of how the man was injured.

NSW Police would not confirm reports the man was found with stab wounds.

Police are speaking with several people and were set to canvas the area on Friday morning.

Anyone with information has been urged to come forward.
