Live breaking news: Cancer patients and staff test positive to Covid-19
Multiple people at a Sydney hospital, including cancer patients, have returned positive Covid-19 results.
Victoria's lockdown has been extended and harsh new restrictions have been put in place after a number of mystery cases and 'selfish individuals'.
Premier Daniel Andrews said there were too many mystery cases and change had to be made.
"I want to make a couple of comments about one particular event, but I don't for a moment suggest that it is the only event," he said.
"We have seen people turning the footpath into an impromptu beer garden and doing pub crawls. We've seen people gathering in parks in large numbers. We've seen lots of different people flouting these rules."
Under new rules, playgrounds will be off-limits but there will be no change to the time people can exercise.
The curfew will be from 9pm to 5am and last for two weeks.
It comes after the state recorded 22 locally transmitted cases.
Meanwhile, two staff and four patients from St George Hospital in Sydney's south, have tested positive to Covid-19. Both staff members are fully vaccinated, while the three patients have had one dose of vaccine. One patient has not been vaccinated.
