Wild footage has captured the moment a group of teens were cornered after allegedly stealing a luxury car - one being tackled to the ground.

Dramatic footage has captured the moment a group of teens were arrested after stealing a luxury car in Victoria - one caught on film being wrestled to the ground by police.

Police were responding to reports of a robbery at a venue on Sorento’s Ocean Beach Rd in Victoria’s Morningside Peninsula about 1.00am on Wednesday.

Officers surrounded the allegedly stolen Mercedes at a gas station in Rye.

Police allege the teens attempted to ram the unmarked police car before fleeing on foot.

In the video, a woman’s scream can be heard as the officer yells at the teen to “get on the ground.”

A Victoria Police spokesman said six people were arrested in total after the incident, with a seventh allegedly managing to escape on foot. He also confirmed that capsicum spray was deployed by responding officers.

“A number of items, also believed to have been stolen, were located inside the vehicle,” the spokesman said.

“Checks revealed the Mercedes had been stolen from Mount Martha the previous evening.”

Out of the six arrested, two are facing charges.

A 19-year-old from Seaford was charged with vehicle theft and has been bailed to appear at Frankston Magistrates Court next month.

A South Frankston boy, 16, will face court on similar charges at a later date.

The four remaining offenders – aged 12, 14, 16 and 16 respectively – were let off with a caution.

Police are still investigating the seventh alleged offender who made off on foot.
