Thousands of commuters have been facing major delays on Sydney’s rail network after a teenager was found injured on train tracks.
The 13-year-old boy was found by police with head injuries on tracks at Homebush station about 5.30pm Thursday.
Emergency services rushed to the station where the teenager was treated by paramedics before he was taken to hospital.
The commotion caused major delays and cancellations on dozens of Sydney train lines.
Trains on the T1 North Shore and Western Line have been hit with major delays and cancellations.
There have also been delays to services on the T2 Inner West and Leppington T3 Bankstown, T8 Airport and T9 Northern lines, as well as services to the Blue Mountains, Central Coast and Newcastle.
It is understood buses were also affected in the area.
Passengers were warned to expect delays, with some reporting trains being stopped altogether.
Dozens of services were up to 30 minutes later on the T3, T8 and T1 lines, while some were cancelled.
A police operation was underway at Homebush station, with services returning to normal within hours.
Commuters have been warned of further delays across the train network as a result of the incident.
