Adelaide’s Celeste Dixon returning to popular Ninja Warrior series on TV

AUSTRALIA’S fittest and fastest — including Adelaide’s Celeste “Aerial Ninja” Dixon — will be put to the test again in season two of Nine’s hit TV series Ninja Warrior.

THEY were the fit faces we watched tackle the toughest obstacle course in the world and now the biggest TV show of last year is back to put Australia’s fittest and fastest to the test again.

Season two of Ninja Warrior features 300 Ninjas — 50 more than last year — with more than a third of the cast made up of returning season one competitors.

That includes six females who made it to the semi-finals last year who are back with a fresh determination to make their mark.

More than 90 per cent of last year’s Ninjas applied to try and tackle the course in season two.

28 per cent of this year’s competitors are female, with more than 7700 people applying for the show.

Among those returning are last year’s memorable “Deadly Ninja” Jack Wilson; world history-making female rock climber Andrea Hah and her fellow Blue Mountains crew Lee and Ben Cossey and Tom O’Halloran; the Parkour twins Brodie and Dylan Pawson; and YouTube sensation Olivia Vivian.

Many returning Ninjas have also banded together to train since their last attempt at the course.

Teaming up as the “Misfits” are Melbourne’s Kadeem “The Dream” Evans, Georgia Bonora and Ashlin Herbert; Perth’s Ninja Academy crew featuring the Ravi brothers, Ben Polson plus Olivia Vivian; and Adelaide’s Base Camp, boasting the talent of Adelaide’s Celeste “Aerial Ninja” Dixon, Alex Bigg and Season 1 finalist Luke Williams.

There is an extra heat, an extra semi-final and a two-part grand final where only those who complete each stage make it to the next one for a chance of taking out the title of Australia’s first Ninja Warrior.

With nobody taking that title in Season 1, this year the prize money jackpots to $200,000.

Only six people worldwide have ever finished the course, which is now 25 per cent larger than it was last year.
