Top marks: The full HSC honour roll revealed

Merit list, honour roll, distinguished achievers - whichever name you call it by, it’s the definitive list of the smartest kids in NSW, at least according to HSC markers.
Every student on the list below achieved a Band 6 - between 90 and 100 marks out of 100 - in at least one of their HSC subjects, taking in both their final exam mark and their school “internal assessment” mark.
Nearly 42,000 “distinguished achiever” titles are being awarded to almost 19,600 HSC students.
Of those, 3831 achieved a Band 6 in English Advanced, while 183 made the merit list for English Standard.
Sydney Girls High School had the highest number of students achieve a Band 6 in English Extension 1 with 42 students while Kambala Rose Bay had 17 students gain top marks in English Extension 2.
There are 2986 students who scored 90 or above in Mathematics Standard 1 or 2, and 3693 made the list in the advanced course.
James Ruse Agricultural High School had the most distinguished achievers in both Maths Extension 1 and Extension 2, with 127 and 96 in each subjects respectively.
In Visual Arts, 1537 students got top marks, while 745 achieved a Band 6 in Ancient History and 1105 in Modern History.
In the sciences, 1274 students made the cut for Biology, 1113 for Chemistry and 1019 for Physics.
Just over 2000 students had top marks in Business Studies, nearly 800 in Economics and more than 1500 for Legal Studies.
Knox Grammar School had the highest raw number of Distinguished Achievers with 890, followed by Sydney Grammar School with 667 and Pymble Ladies’ College with 663.
