More than 75,000 students sat HSC exams this year, but only 17,473 Year 12s can call themselves Distinguished Achievers.

To claim the title of Distinguished Achiever, students must attain a result in the highest band – either Band 6 or E4 – in at least one of their subjects.

The full list of top achievers in any one course can also be revealed.

The maximum rank for each course varies according to the candidature of the course.

The top five students in subjects with 1000 or less entries are ranked below.

For courses with 10,000 or more students enrolled, ranks 1 to 20 are listed.

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell commended the “remarkable” achievements of every student who made the merit list.

“I just couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them, she said.

“I feel like a proud mum again on HSC day.”
