Shoppers at Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney's east got more than they bargained for when a dispute broke out over a parking space.
It’s been reported the driver of a white sedan overtook a black Mercedes-Benz, which had its indicator on and was waiting to park in an available spot in the carpark.
In video footage. a man in a black hoodie, who appears to be the driver of the black Mercedes-Benz, jumps out of his car to block the white sedan from accessing the car space.
The man argues with another man in a white T-shirt as the sedan tries to reverse into the car space anyway.
The man in the hoodie appears to lean on the back of the sedan to stop it moving before the driver seemingly loses patience and puts their foot on the gas, pushing the man backwards as the car enters the parking spot.
To add insult to injury, as the sedan gains access to the park, the second man in the T-shirt appears to shove the man in the black hoodie just as the vision ends.
In Melbourne, another driver can be seen in dashcam footage pushing a woman out of the way as she tried to reserve a parking space.
The footage, which was uploaded onto social media, shows the woman standing in an available car space when the owner of a large silver vehicle starts driving into the spot.
The woman grabs onto the black bullbar as the car inches forward.
In a dangerous stand-off, the woman is eventually forced out of the space as the driver continues to park.
The incident caused a fiery debate online, with some supporting the driver and others saying it was a risky manoeuvre by both parties.
“Driver did nothing wrong, she shouldn’t be there in the first place,” one perfson wrote.
“Public car park you can’t reserve it. I’d have done exactly the same thing,” another said.
One commenter defending the woman's actions said: “If she was injured, the outcome would be very different regardless of who perceives who to have right over the parking space.”
A third incident made headlines in Queensland; this time a vacant car space in Southport, near Surfers Paradise, was at the centre of the dispute.
The original video, taken by TikTok user @Grace_esma_iris, was titled “Let the road rage begin”.
A woman in black appears to be blocking the spot for herself and a man in another car to park their car there.
When the woman refuses to move, the female driver in a red hatchback blasts her horn loudly.
As tensions continue to rise between the two women, a man approaches.
The three people can then be seen arguing before the woman gets back into her car and drives off.
The online community was again quick to slam the behaviour of the woman wearing black who was reserving the spot.
In online comments, viewers suggested they would have either continued to wait in the car “all day” or move slowly forward in the hope the woman would have eventually moved.
