Toddler rushed to hospital in critical condition after being struck by truck south of Brisbane

A child is fighting for life after being struck by a truck in a serious traffic incident.

A toddler is fighting for life after being hit by a truck south of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Browns Plains Rd and Webber Drive in Browns Plains after reports the child had been struck at 8.30am on Thursday morning.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the toddler had suffered serious head injuries.

It’s understood the mother and her child had been crossing the road at the time of the incident.

Paramedics rushed the child to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.

Queensland Police closed a section of the road following the serious traffic incident.

“Drivers are advised to use alternative routes where possible,” a tweet from the official QPS X account states.
