A P-plate driver has copped a massive fine after he was caught driving at 157km/h in an 80km/h zone.

A P-plate driver has lost his licence after the police caught him speeding at nearly double the limit in outer western Sydney.

Traffic and Highway Patrol Command caught the man allegedly travelling at 157km/h in an 80km/h zone along Lenore Drive in Eastern Creek on Wednesday about 7.30am.

The 20-year-old driver was stopped and issued a traffic infringement notice for the extreme speeding blitz.

The police fined him $2794 and he lost six demerit points.

“His driver’s licence was suspended for six months and his registration plates seized,” police confirmed on Wednesday afternoon.

The man was stopped as part of Operation Furious targeting speed and dangerous driving offences.
