A man has been charged with a slew of offences after a teenage girl was left fighting for life and four others injured in a horror crash.

A man has been charged after a horror inner city car accident left a teenage girl fighting for life and four others injured.
Gulet Ahmed, from Essendon in Melbourne’s north west, was charged on Sunday over the incident which took place on Lygon Street, Carlton, more than 24 hours earlier.
The 40-year-old has been charged with negligently causing serious injury, dangerous driving causing serious injury, possessing methylamphetamine and faced court on Sunday.
He did not apply for bail and will face court again in July.
Emergency services were called to reports of the two-vehicle collision just before midday on Saturday.
Victoria Police allege a Volkswagen Passat was seen driving erratically before crashing into an Alfa Romeo which subsequently spun out of control and struck a pedestrian.
The male pedestrian and a teenage girl in the Alfa Romeo were both taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The other two occupants of the Alfa Romeo, a man and woman, were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries under police guard.
Major Collision Investigation Unit Detective Sergeant Stephen Hill thanked those who stopped to assist after the serious crash.
“I’m in awe of any member of the public who stops that stops at a scene like this, it’s very confronting and very traumatic,” he said.
“Members of the public have spoken to the driver of the VW and have kept him at the scene until police arrived.”
Sergeant Hill said the car he was driving was not believed to be stolen.
