A man allegedly hid in a bin to avoid being arrested following a dramatic police chase through inner-Sydney.

Cops stopped the driver of the sedan for a random breath test before the chase took place on Darcy Avenue, in Moore Park, at about 9.15pm on Friday.

The driver then pulled over on Epsom Road, in Zetland, before allegedly running away and hiding in a wheelie bin.

The 20-year-old man was arrested and taken to Mascot Police Station.

He was charged with police pursuit (not stop – drive recklessly), fail to comply with request or signal to stop vehicle, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, and exceed speed more than 45km/h.

He was refused bail and is set to front Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.
