Heartening reaction to collision on Melbourne road

Dashcam footage has captured a driver’s surprising reaction after her car collided with a postman on his bike.

The heartening moment a postman and driver hugged after colliding on a major Melbourne road has been captured on dashcam footage.

The footage, posted on the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page, shows a car colliding with a postie on his bike as they attempt to turn a corner at the same time on Boronia Rd last Thursday morning.

It shows the postie being thrown from his bike from the force of the incident.

Following the collision, the driver is seen quickly exiting her car and walking towards the postie.

She then proceeds to give the postie, who appears uninjured, a heartwarming hug.

Another passer-by is seen helping with retrieving the postie’s packages, which were strewn across the road.

Facebook users applauded the driver and postie’s reaction to the incident.

“If only everybody on the road responded like these two,” one person wrote.

Another person commented that it had made their day.

“Kudos to all involved,” they wrote.
