Child dies after horror crash in Sydney’s west, woman fighting for life
A five-year-old boy has died, while a woman is fighting for her life in hospital, after their car crashed into a parked truck.

A five-year-old boy has died following a horror single-vehicle crash in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services rushed to Christie St at St Marys about 3.20am Friday after a Hyundai Getz hit a parked truck and trailer.
The passenger in the back of the car of the car, a five-year-old boy, was treated at the scene before he was rushed to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a critical condition.
NSW Police on Saturday issued a release saying the boy had since died.
The driver, a 38-year-old woman, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before she was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene was established, with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit forensically examining the area.
An investigation is now underway into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
The crash caused the closure of Christie St in both directions between Lee Holme Drive and Werrington Rd for hours on Friday.
