IT WAS a long lunch under the Tuscan sun - well as close to it as you can get in Sydney.
Michael McGurk's former business partner Ron Medich yesterday lunched at Leichhardt's Tuscany Ristorante.
He dined on the restaurant's finest fare, including signature dish filleto di manzo con funghi porcini della Toscana, $32.
Mr Medich also shared a bottle of wine over lunch with his four dining companions.
Mr Medich arrived at the Norton St restaurant - the heart of Sydney's Italian community - about 1pm after leaving his Point Piper home a short time earlier.
He dined for more than two hours before sending out a short written statement paying tribute to the slain father-of-four.
"Recently, Mr Medich has been a party to proceedings relating to commercial matters in which Michael McGurk was also a party," the statement said.
"Approximately three weeks ago, a significant part of one of those proceedings was settled amicably.
"Mr McGurk's murder is tragic and Mr Medich's sympathy goes out to his wife and children."
