The man who vented about his date and was met with hundreds of hate comments has responded to the backlash.

Flynn Martin quickly became a target of the internet after he shared an experience he had taking a woman on a date to a popular frozen yoghurt establishment.

Initially, he said the date was going well and there was chemistry between the two of them but when they got to the dessert bar he was stunned she picked the “large cup” after he picked the small one.

“The big one, that’s just outrageous. That’s just a gluttonous amount of frozen yoghurt,” he said. The brand later came out and said they only have one cup size.

He started to freak out realising he would likely have to pay for it and, in the clip, started to criticise her for how much yoghurt and toppings she was putting in the pay-by-weight item.

Flynn said he’d just gotten back from Europe and he didn’t have a lot of money to splash around.

“I’m off it at this point, I’ve got the ick and I don’t even want to be there,” he said.

He then started to hone in on how she was eating her dish, saying she was “wolfing” it down and wondered “am I going to be eaten next”. He then said she “stole” his bowl so he eventually offered her some. However, he mocked her reaction to how she ate it.

The internet quickly piled on to Flynn’s video, with one viewer saying; “Good luck finding another Yo-chi date, you stinge.”

Another said: “Don’t go to Yo-chi if you only have McFlurry money. Your date sounds like a cool unit though.”

One said: “Dates usually cost hundreds, you should be grateful she even agreed to go to Yo-chi. I wouldn’t have.”

However, Flynn recently appeared on The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick to speak about the internet backlash.

“It’s brutal, absolutely brutal. Definitely not what I was expecting or hoping for but that’s how the internet goes, I guess, especially TikTok … it’s a wild place,” he said.

“I was just surprised by how much she was having. Not in the sense of I was annoyed or anything, I was just genuinely in shock.

“People are really upset that I was shaming her and saying all these things but … that was not the intention at all, I thought it was a really funny story, all my friends and family thought it was funny. I didn’t want to make anyone upset, but the internet takes things and runs with it.”

He said he hasn’t spoken to her since, and there are people online pretending to be his date. Flynn said he was the one shouting and perhaps she should’ve been more respectful on that front. But, he said he’s learned his lesson and will now pay and add a tip.
