A woman who became single at age 60 has revealed how she “reinvented” herself by focusing on her fitness.

Harrah Brown has had the last laugh after amassing millions of views and hundreds of thousands of followers with her motivational gym videos.

Now 65, the fitness fanatic said she feels better than ever, after she began weight training in her sixties in the midst of devastating “heartbreak”.

“Once I accepted I was on my own at age 60, I picked myself up and rebuilt my life from the inside out,” she said in one video shared on her TikTok channel.

“Lifting weights renewed my strength, my spirit, and my confidence,” Harrah said in another clip.

While in a third, she said that starting her fitness journey has resulted in her “looking better each year”.

The mother-of-four, who is now divorced, received a huge amount of praise from followers who said she “inspired” them.

“You go girl!!! The 60s are a great place to be,” one said.

“You make me excited to age!! You’re radiant and so inspiring, keep shining babe,” shared another.

As one fan agreed: “Weight training made me feel like a badass, it’s amazing for mood boosting too.”

Her fitness journey began after finding herself on her own back in 2019, she explained in a telling Instagram post.

“In August 2019, I borrowed 5k to move into my one bedroom apartment. I had nothing more than my clothes, my Great Dane, and a few personal belongings,” she said.

“I had my bed, a borrowed chair and desk and ate at my desk for well over a year.

“It was the hardest time of my life. I honestly wasn’t sure how or if I would survive.”

Describing herself as “alone, devastated and scared for the first time in my life”, Harrah admitted she spent her days crying and wishing for her ex to come back.

It was only after she had a nasty fall while walking my dog, she said she “heard a tiny voice tell me to ‘get your life together and stop wasting away’”.

It was the motivation she needed to turn her life around.

“I started listening to great motivational speakers on mindset and I read inspiring books on transformation, and I journaled,” she said.

“Day by day, my mindset became stronger. The will to turn my setback into my comeback became a powerful force within me.

“In September 2020 at age 61 I started lifting weights in my apartment gym, where I still workout today.”

The rest as they say, is history.

Harrah’s account not only contains an array of positive messages, it is also filled with clips of her doing what others her age may consider near impossible.

Only one in three (33.4 per cent) Aussies aged 65 years or over met the recommended physical activity guidelines in 2022, according to recent data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

However, in one clip Harrah can be seen doing heavy barbell squats, while in another she showed off her impressive pull-up skills.

She’s now so much more confident in herself that in one video, she said she feels 20 years younger.

“64 is the new 44,” she said in a bikini-clad clip last year.

It’s not only motivational fitness videos she shares, with Harrah also sharing a series of bikini videos, in which she makes clear she’s had “no surgeries”.

Harrah also likes to “not let age define my hairstyle,” revealing how she styles her blonde locks into voluminous curls ever day.

“My easy, everyday style,” she captioned the clip, which has been viewed 14.1 million times.

Since embarking on her new lifestyle, Harrah has become an “empowerment coach”, in which she helps others “be healthy, fit and beautiful at any age”.

“I want to be able to remain independent as long as I can. Mental health too, so many good benefits to working out,” one commented on one of Harrah’s recent videos.

“Seeing how my parents aged is my why I work out like you. Heck no. I LOVE being strong,” shared someone else.
